    I think the biggest advantage is for small networks ie businesses. Imagine an office that when you re-arrange the the furniture or change offices you never have to move a phone line or network connection. All you do is plug the computer into a power outlet and the server detects it and reconfigures everything for you. Office installation/upgrade cost will be greatly reduced IMHO.

    for your second question
    i actually have no idea, how the security for wifi works.
    there is of course something. otherwise the usage wouldn't go up 80 times in 1 year from 54000min to 4.5mil minutes.
    if you're a hacker or a pc freak, maybe you can crack the code the password or whatever.
    there is somuch writen about wifi in books, if you are interested read it.

    i just know wifi is evrywhere, the big players invested a lot. like intel, all laptop produders.
    i'm pretty confident with skynet.
