The Protect Karangahape idiots are now starting to organize protests against a wind farm which is proposed to be built in the Kaimai Ranges, a few kilometers away. They say it will have an even bigger effect on the environment than a little gold mine. Apparently, it will be a major hazard for a few bats and birds etc. Don't know where they think we will get our power from if they have their way and shut down all mining, drilling for gas and oil, hydro dams, etc, and now wind farms. Still, it does give them something else to worry about.
