I wasn't referring to Australia as it was 40,000 years ago, take a way a few zeros and you'll get the picture. We're talking about less than 400 years.
Not much time in the scheme of things.
And yes, whilst we cannot undo the damage of the past, I find it easy to reflect on what Australia would be like. I spent some time on the weekend standing under some magnificent tree ferns that were probably more than 200 years old. I had plenty of time to reflect on the beautiful scenery and the contrast on my return to 'civilisation'. Nothing civilised about the number of carcasses on the side of the road that had been killed by cars.
We also spent 6 hours grubbing out blackberries the weekend before.
