It's easy to forget how long a period the GFC unfolded over. I recall the main course of the crisis dragged out over about 6 months. I was buying and selling all sorts of stuff at the time. Some of them are no longer with us (good riddance), so I remember very well that some of these companies died a very slow death (BNB in particular comes to mind). BNB were issuing statements on an almost weekly basis updating the markets about their refinancing. It certainly wasn't clear whether they would live or die until the very end. A consortium of banks decided their fate and it wasn't a unanimous decision. Interesting times and couldn't have asked for a better learning experience (probably won't get another one like it).
Not that I put PLV in the same boat as BNB. I've probably cursed the thread by mentioning it's ticker code.
