Even though quite a number of 'Green protest groups' have withdrawn from protesting Gunns, the small protest group known as 'The No Pulp Mill Alliance' (Yes the same ones that didn't even turn up or offer any evidence in the recent Court debacle), are now taking out adverts and threatening ANZ with a 'letter writing campaign' if they renew the debt facility.
Gunns apparent response was that they (protest group) are getting 'slightly ridiculous'.

I guess they had to try something, as the withdrawing support for them and lack of anything concrete to lash Gunns with, is fast seeing them become irrelevant IMO.
In the mean time, earthworks at the Bell Bay Mill are continuing on time and within budget.
In the next two weeks we await, re-financing and asset sale completion.
After that, as you know, there is until the end of March when the earthworks are due to be finished. By then, if not earlier, we should see either a JV aboard or an announcement by Gunns as to what they intend. In short, we are coming down to the wire.
There seems to be an upsurge of volume/buyers listed betting on a positive result. 14.2 million shares exchanged hands on the 16/1.
