I am seriously worried by the escalation of this protest. Locals have been most restrained in their support of lynas using banners and shouting of slogans.. If smsl start to take the law into their own hands local supporters may reciprocate. I fear for the safety of smsl activists as they are portrayed as outsiders and mainly non-malays interfering with the livelihood of locals. Any non peaceful incidents will have serious repercussion to Malaysia and Lynas. Lets all pray that Smsl leaders will reconsider pursuing non legal means to achieve their course.. I also plea that lynas supporters continue to show restrain as lynas is clearly here to stay. It is not in the interest of lynas and therefore supporters to meet the escalation similarly. There is a local law prohibiting unlawful assembly, this time I hope it will be use before smsl leave Selangor.
