Actually mate I can understand how the stewards dismissed it, apart from racing untractably, the horse leading clearly had a significant margin prior to racing greenly. The important thing to note here is that when he runs off the track initially, he doesn't actually contact the 2nd horse or take it's ground as the established margin accounts for this. In the 2nd instance when he runs back in, the interference isn't significant enough to uphold any protest.
The winning horse actually interfered with himself more than anything. He'd already hit the rail prior to any of that.
The 3 kilo claiming apprentice on the 2nd horse actually overreacted to the lead horse running out, despite not being contacted. The 2nd horse doesn't finish close enough to uphold a protest despite the fact that the 1st horse probably cost himself 5 lengths by not running straight. The 2nd horse wasn't genuine enough to get up, he was 60-1 and 1 from 23 for a reason.
