Would anyone go to a dentist to extract a tooth if they described the procedure as 'teeth mining'? :) Of course not. You would get the impression of coming home with no teeth left!

Would you prefer a few 'wells' in your backyard, or a 'mine'?

And so it is with CSG 'mining' vs CSG extraction.

'Mining' suggests digging everything up, and leaving a dirty big hole in the ground. As in open-pit coal mining.

What CSG companies do is far better described as 'extraction' - extract the gas, leaving the coal, (and the vast majority of the environment), exactly as it is. We extract the gas right out from under the feet of the Pilliga mouse. He won't feel a thing!
