It’s a good question,
Is made in the image of God a Neanderthal, a long armed short legged stouping hairy primate or one of the Pygmy types?
If I had a strong belief in God I would suggest that the quote “ made in the image of God “ relates more to the conscious mind of man rather than the body shape.
One thing that I don’t agree with in the interpretation of the bible is that all the birds, plants and animals are dumb, with no personality or knowledge of right and wrong.
I’m sure they are not as sophisticated as us but they have some sophistication.
