I have to challenge you on the idea that ammonia technology is a lot less simple. The reason Provaris method is gaining traction is due to the simple load follow of their solution. Ammonia requires expensive and energy intensive cracking to occur to return ammonia back to hydrogen. It is Hydrogen that end customers want!
As for the limitations. It is well know what they are. 'distance and volume'. Hence they are targeting regional markets where compression is cost effective.
