Common practice. Unfortunate in some respects, but I suspect none of us have based, or are basing, our long held view of PRR's prospects on what brokers, independent or otherwise, have to say.

I think it's different for all stocks, in that some which you know are complete dogs yet come imprimatured with a buy recommendation are the ones best left alone.

I know it's easy to say this, because we do tend to fall in love with some of our stocks, but PRR is what's best described as a no-brainer. So if some "unindependent" analyst wants to recommend it, so be it.

Unless of course his name happens to be Henry Blodget ... though I suspect not even he could get this one wrong!!)
