There's neither good news nor bad news and today's minimal change is well within the scope of random/general market behavior. The big dump of 60 million looks bad on the charts (huge volume with a red candle), and the hourly chart is looking weak, strength may or may not pickup. No real change in fundamentals until the q'terly I suppose too. I'm more concerned about the lack of volatility in the gold price this week... low volatility begets high volatility, so something is coming soon, up or down I don't know.
