I think it is even more unlikely that there will be any takeovers considering how most companies are conserving cash and scaling back marginal cost production.
With the base metal prices yet to reach a bottom and global growth either slowing or in recession,what company in their right mind would want to commit to a takeover,regardless of how attractive it might look.
ever since share prices collapsed,many posters are spruiking the t/over scenario.
Perhaps it may be an "only hope" chance for them to get back some of their huge unrealised capital loss that they have accrued,me included.
Obviously appears that most people still think the global markets have further to fall as every time there is a bounce,people sell heavily into it,especially the base metal stocks.
In years to come,we can all look back and see what a bargain buying opportunity these times were,but why buy now when things could even be cheaper tomorrow,etc.
