Cpt Salty , sure there is a race , between all the new Biologic class of Psoriasis drugs . The leaders are Amgens Embrel , Centacors Remicade and Biogens Amevive and Raptiva . They all have a few flaws , although they no longer damage the kidneys or lungs like the old drugs , they all deplete the T Cells . They all have to be injected and are very expensive . Amevive , forcast sales of $US500,000,000 , costs up to $10,000 for each 3 months of treatment .
They are injected , so their track to market is longer than SBP002s , they disable the immune systems T Cells , the killer cells used by the immune system to fight infections , leaving the patient exposed to other problems , including cancer .
Solbec has the same advantage here it has over the cancer drugs . It does not disable the T Cells . It fights the auto immune diseases by modulating interlukin6 . Can anybody tell me one psoriasis drug with a similar mode of action ? I have not found any .
Solbec have clearly raised the bar . They are now entering clinical trials and I believe the race is almost over .
