For people that have lost money, Capital Loss is also an asset, that can be banked for the future.
A thing to look out for, if ZIP enters adminstration ZIP shares will be suspended for a very long time (over a year is very possible), until liquidated or debts are reorganised.
Worst case senario,
- You have capital gains from selling some good bets but
- Can't sell shares with losses due to it being in suspension
- Have to pay Capital Gain Tax in cash rather than offsetting the difference. You are never getting it back from ATO
