re: the latest news! write-off debt!! There's GOT to be a competing bid taking a position - maybe Cheung Kong they own a lot of Hutchinson also and a small portion of Powertel already. On the face of it if shareholders get offered a rights issue of 1.5 for 1 ar 1c then PWT will be worth less than 1c and a share consolidation will be on the cards.

What goes up MUST come down unless something is about to happen on the competing bid front that will prevent the rights issue.
