You may be right, but also take into account: Tuesdays are when most people following the US patent application expect an announcement (forgot what the logic was), so people tend to buy up before then. Also, on another shares forum site, someone following the patent progress announced that there'd been a change on one of the patents. I suspect he/she wasn't the only one following the patent site, remember when the US Patent site made a boo boo about one of the patents being rejected and the stock was dumped prior to PTD making an announcement clarifying the situation (this patent was subsequently awarded a notice of allowance).

Not contradict you or say that PTD does or doesn't leak, but these are other ways people try to keep ahead of announcements, probably a good idea to know them if watching the stock.
