Hey Poyn
An interesting article in today's Newcastle Morning Herald saying that Incitec Pivot is looking at building a Coal Gasification Plant in Indonesia to boost the output of 3 fertiliser plants there.
It is estimated that it will cost US$800 million.
As you would know, fertiliser and explosive grade amonium nitrate, currently use methane to provide Hydrogen for Ammonia manufacture.
UCG will use the raw hydrogen for the process and the remaining CO for other puposes. Perhaps power generation?
"If the project goes ahead, Incitec would fund, build and operate the new gasification plant.
There may be other opportunities for UCG than first thought of.
Orica, principle of Incitec, and other manufacturers may be interested in this process also.
