Yes - now 20 days into the 30 day public comment period for the Deep Disposal Wells Permit and Aquifer Exemption (not the Permit to Mine).
Still no appearance of any formal submissions on ADAMS as HS indicated (but it seems that documents can take a week or more to get posted on ADAMS, so need to be cautious still). As well, due to the time consuming nature of preparing public comment submissions, they are often not received until the last few days of any comment period.
But we will soon know!
I have no idea how the Japanese events will affect the types of organisations that make submissions but I imagine that WDEQ will only take seriously comments that focus on the matters at hand i.e. whether the DD wells have any potential to contaminate drinking water. WDEQ has already decided that the wells are safe - so imo they will require some serious convincing to change their position.
