One of the largest and most controversial mining projects in Greenland will be heard from tomorrow Friday. This is about the mining project at Kuannersuit (kvanefjeld) at Narsaq, where Greenland Minerals A / S is trying to get an exploitation permit for rare earths and as a by-product uranium. Consultation meetings in several places The consultation period will start on 18 December 2020 and end 12 weeks after 12 March 2021. The Naalakkersuisut has decided that during the consultation period, consultation meetings will be held in Igaliku, Narsaq, Narsarsuaq, Qaqortoq and Qassiarsuk. The time for holding the consultation meetings will be announced on the Naalakkersuisut website. The self-government emphasizes that the publication of the consultation material does not mean that the Naalakkersuisut has finally approved the consultation material. - Such approval will only take place by signing an IBA and by issuing an exploitation permit, they state.
