Public servants who have spent enough time in particular roles, implementing government legislated processes, often think critically about what they do.
Personally I think we, the public, have a right to know their views if the they wish to convey them to us. Then these government employees are fully serving us.
We, the public, are their true employers and pay their salaries as taxpayers, even though we’re not directly involved in hiring them.
