    Jack,
    There is no doubt they will intrude into your home. Using individually owned EV batteries at night is already factored in to their planning to deal with when the "sun isn't shinning and the wind not blowing".

    This isn't illogical or bad. Viewed another way it could be phrased as giving the EV owner the opportunity to sell their under-utilised battery capacity for profit. Stick or carrot?

    The key questions;
    1) Will participation be voluntary?
    2) Will participation be without duress? (Providing various entities your TFN is "voluntary" but not really.)
    3) Will battery owners be rewarded with the true value of participation.
    4) Will Participating battery owners be subsidised.
    5) Will public servants controlling appliances such as air conditioners be truely voluntary?
