Nothing do with lack of competition, there are multiple suppliers of fuel in Brisbane, everything to do with price fixing. The price cycles have nothing to do with the cost of supply, they are marketing tactics. Price cycles started with cheap fuel on Tuesdays, as a way to boost sales on a quiet day & evolved into what the capital cities have today. That's why regional towns don't have price cycles.
