What is going on with the ROL / MEN 'deal' ?

Mentum management/Board include Charles Goodfellow and Shahed Mahmood

Those two characters have turned up at TGL (Touchstone Gold) where yesterday they put out a statement saying

"
The Directors believe that in the current market environment, which is not conducive to the continued funding of non-producing mineral exploration assets in areas of Colombia where access is restricted, the Company's current strategy of concentrating on gold exploration in Colombia is not now in the best interest of shareholders."

If the environment in not conducive to investing in non-producing mineral exploration assets in Colombia let along a former Russian 'Stan' with all the attendant problems why are they allowing their vehicle MEN to take the ROL assets/liabilities ?
