pulp non fiction

It will be interesting to see if a foreign corporation takes equity in the Gunns BKP project . If a Finnish company moves in on the project they have had access to all the data which they can evaluate to see if this project is bankable and if it would maybe competitive with Finnish investments in similar BKP plants in Uruguay,Chile and Brazil . Indeed two large Nordic groups are already in deep in South America . UPM - Botnia . UPM is in trouble with the EU Monopolies commission for the takeover of basically bankrupt Myylykoski in the magazine paper sector.
If Gunns are paying a potential competitor to look at their data that would be ironic as the Finns are basically being paid to check he books. They also are probably aware that Stora Enso has its dollars spread out in S America with 2 large pulp mill investments . The name of the game for a deal in Tasmania is Japan and China . Here UPM has investments in China. These can be fed from Uruguay. An over the top excessive capital investment in Oz for a non competitive BKP mill woild not get over the Board in Finland. If they move then it would only be for control or to prevent a competitor.
