while I think you are correct in your caution, my focus would be (although I am not in those projects) on the interests of some of the other management as well.
While not for a second suggesting bad stuff it does point to the motives of this group. The other guys have interests in a chip mill, the one at bunbury so my questions would be along the lines of - what is the arms lenght fee to process the wood and how is that determined (given chipping is such a big component of costs) and how much of the wood from 1998- 2003 going to be processed out of bunbury given when it was planted the plan would have surely been to send it out of Albany (Bunbury is presumably a further port from albany and haulage is another big production cost.
At least there is an offer to be RE for the these trees as like many I fear latter projects are not going to have as many options.
