yes it is AUD 1622 /oz today i.e. highest since NOV 2012 !!! To compare: ALK at that time was 85c so today price is almost 4 times lower than it was in Nov 2012.
REE is actually a drag for ALK I think - considering massive capex and curerrnt expenses needed. If ALK was just a gold miner, current estimation of earnings for ALK (assuming 65k oz gold / annum) would be 9.5c+ (+ if gold price keeps going up). This makes P/E = ~ 2.5. Not bad. And profit margins are actually pretty good. Most of the gold miners are too cheap now - price og gold is at 26 months high now , yet most miners cost ~ 20...30% of the Nov 2012 price ...
