Merely pointing out that the bet is no big deal. Someone betting $300k on the result is not a 'WOW' factor. It's a tosser bet. A rich person having a bit of fun. I'm sure they'll pick up the $24k without a doubt. Hey, why not throw $1 million at it. It's a sure bet.
As to Apple v PRR. The difference is that the former is a 'sure' bet. Not exciting because the risk is low. Now, you would have to have money to lose, like our political better, but if you placed $300k on PRR circa Xmas you would be collecting $300k pre tax profit for your troubles, that's assuming you had the nerve to hold this long. The $24k you would've picked up the next day. It's not about the size of the move but the risk factor involved to get the movement.
I would decline your odds for the sun rising. $300k is not worth the effort for a 30c return!
