Good enough questions to which I don't have adequate answers. My sense/perspective is that mul just survived by the skin of its teeth and then by dint of either good fortune or impressive foresight and skill (or a combination of both - or - as some think - calling in some help or favours from the past Paul Allen connection), now has product and opportunity. As for governance issues - my gut feel (could be way off the mark!) is that Ballintine is the entrepreneurial marketer and ideas man and mul will need good or better admin ahead. Hey - apply for the job!!
