Correct, it is not a bigger battery, they have given all sorts of reasons such as wheels and tyres, more efficient power train and improved re-gen breaking, but a 20% increase!, pull the other one.
I saw that Musk tweet, from memory he replied “silicon carbon works really well”. He must have realised he had said too much, if he deleted the tweet. Tesla also said the Model S has had the 401 mile range since the end of January production.
They now have a trial battery manufacturing line at Fremont, and may be trialling them in the Model S.
