IMO there is currently a massive shake out within the 'IoT' space, big players lining up the ducks, this play will be for the 'standard' used in the future 'IoT' integration and operability. Bluetooth had the same battle before 'standards' were agreed and everyone was playing on the same page.. A lot of the spec companies will wash out after making much dosh for the instigators but I bet they also knew this space would be eventually end in the big end of town armwrestling for control and agreement.. without that the pure concept of 'IoT' will fail before it takes off..
