A company couldn't reveal anything specific not publicly announced anyway.
It would only do good if they came out with an announcement firmly addressing the fact that nothings changed than an off the record phone call. Would be madness otherwise if they told a retail holder who rang up that the potential of xxx is what is causing the selling pressure.
