    With regards to renal disease I don't think anyone really knows what the cause is although there is definitely a genetic link in Persians
    I think common sense would suggest to feed a natural diet as possible using dry food minimally more for convenience
    raw roo is a good economical meat but feed the roo intended for human consumption because there aren't allowed to inject sulfur preservatives in it to keep it looking pink like they can with pet food
    Sulfur over a long period of time blocks your vit b absorption making you deficient with dire consequences

    Another point is that in the wild cats and dogs only eat every 2-3 days when they catch something. If we feed them once or twice a day it is not sup rising they just aren't hungry and wont eat. People then try all sorts of stuff to try and get them to eat something
    You could feed a dog once a week if you had to but it wouldn't be very nice ! Cats may have liver problems if they went without food after 3-4 days
