Funny how this has come up now, I too have a fussy indoor ragdoll and getting fussier as he gets older too although he's only 2. The last couple of weeks i've tried numerous wet foods like Dine etc, all the expensive ones and he just looks at them and walks away. Even fresh meat and chicken sometimes he just won't have them, unbelievable. All he wants all the time is Purina One (Chicken and Rice). I just wanted to give him some variety but no way. Yet i have another outdoor cat and dog and they eat together and even our leftovers, they love them. My other cat even eats dog food and he's 11 and very healthy.
I've had a cat in the past which died from CRF and thats why i'm trying to get him to eat different foods to prevent the crystal thing happening again. Next time i go to the vet i must remember to ask about CRF failure chances for him as i'd be devastated if it happened again. If we could get them to eat a variety of foods it would be great.
