For the moment it looks like the push/pull will continue between the two schools of thought : ie the Recession/Demand Destruction camp v the Underinvestment/Tight Supply camp.

Unless you want to trade day to day you just have decide which will prevail in the short to medium term. At this point I’m sitting tight - it’s not as if there’s a whole lot of obvious other places to invest the proceeds if you sell out.

See below latest comparisons with US oil stocks - the two ‘big oilers’ and a couple more the size of WDS.

WDS’s metrics stack up quite well though its failure to recapture its highs from just before COVID has long been a bit puzzling.....still, I can’t help thinking these trailing metrics more reflect the ‘old Woodside’ anyway (I mean - we know that trailing dividend yield is completely misleading)

We’ve now had a full year (to 30 June) on full throttle .....this will finally enable a full set of accounts and revised metrics on the ‘new Woodside’. I’m expecting a big set of numbers ....and hopefully the next uptick in the stock price.

    Roll on Aug 11.
