In theory it sounds good, especially the part about having 30 different strains. An LP in Ontario is selling clones now but only has 3 strains so 30 sounds good.
I say sounds good because when we really think about it, I can't see how it's gonna help much. I don't wanna be a downer but I've gotta put my spin on it. Feel free to disagree but..
Any large producer worth their salt is not going to need clones. They will have a specialized room with a specialized worker smashing these out. Unless UG can do them for cheaper than that LP can, where would the profit margin be though. There will be a small demand from personal growers IF UG can produce top notch genetics at a market rate.
Looking at what's going to happen in the rec market I'm guessing it's gonna be a battle of Big Canna and no big operator is gonna outsource their growing.
I could be wrong in this but the way I see it it's gonna be go big or go home in Canada. I'm sure their will be room in the market for small niche operators but they are gonna have to provide something real special and let's face it the people I'm talking about will be 30 year underground growing heroes, an example being Subcool from the States. From what I've seen, I don't think that's who we are. Six months to source strains after license? Boo.
I'm backing these guys because I believe they have big plans. Selling clones isn't a big plan. They will be keeping low key about what their true end goals. That's my hope, anyway.
