I read a book about a Cambridge educated NZ Surgeon Ulric Williams who turned his back on Western medicine in the 1930's and became a naturopath. He had a documented 100% heal rate of all the hopeless cases that were sent to him. The medical powers that be in NZ fought against him his whole career and stripped his license.
This ties into Australians as in the 40s, Reginald Weaver the Australian minister of health at the time became interested in what Dr Williams was doing and invited him to Australia. Weaver was immediatley stripped of his powers and sent packing.
