db76,
In regard to the commissioning of the Narrabri to Wellington pipeline, they are facing a huge backlash from the local Farmers who do not want to have a bar of it.
IMHO, they would have to convince them first (if they still want to go through their lands that is), before they are allowed to start. Unless of course ESG is prepared to circumnavigate around the State Government Land Reserves, to build their pipeline.
But then we would have the greenies putting a quick stop to that, lol.
And if it is going to be a repetition of the BHP coal mining saga in the Caroona area, well they will have to wait for a very long time. Because even with the Government approval for BHP, they still haven't started and the State Governement and BHP, have even lost the first Court Case. The Supreme Court at the time ruled that what BHP and the State Governement were doing was illegal and in contravention of the Act.
Hence why, as a result, Senator McDonald put immediately through another amendment to rectify that problem.
The big problem though is, that McDonald has now departed the State Government as well.
Cheers,
Buddy
