Actually and here's the reason why the cyclist will be laughing at the moment.... He is (just like everyone else is) legally liable for the damage he caused. I would think your anger would be better directed at your wife who didn't get the cyclists or witnesses details.... Because in this instance, that's the only person who's earned it.
