Putin can accept all he wants.
Apart from the nuclear weapon's standoff , the world has changed from the 50's.

Russia is a miltary and economic pipsqueak.
If China were to start seeing sense and the nationalism card was put back into the pack , what does Russia have left?
Iran ? India is taking advantage , but in the end , wont push the west too far.
That is not to say he couldn't end the world , but that is about the only real power he has.
If the war with Ukraine continues , the world's economy will adapt , isolating Russia for a generation.
It would be lucky to survive intact .
A European rump with the rest going its own way.
