    But it's not supposed to be funny ! But it's not hard, I'll try to explain. I don't support him politically because Russia is a capitalist country and he represents the interests of a numerically small but fabulously wealthy, corrupt, venal, etc etc etc layer of capitalists/oligarchs.
    He defends their interests against the interests of the 120 million Russians who aren't billionaire capitalists which explains the "authoritarian tendencies" . eg If that 120 million should challenge the wealth of the billionaires he would attempt a violent crackdown etc etc Are you kind of with me so far ?

    So I obviously would not, could not, do not support Putin. But I do not let that blind me to the obvious, that he is very intelligent, a very intelligent political enemy. And a nice putdown of Tusk who has even more right wing authoritarian tendencies than Putin. I'm curious , where do you differ ?
