Diver. FYI Putin has some of his own underwater clearance trolls (and the foil hat assets they lead) in the vicinity.

Putin's strategy has been to smash the civilian populations that are perceived to support the rebel groups in their vicinity. Beyond being a murderous war crime the Assad/Putin strategy makes no sense at all . Ethnic cleansing is the goal, notwithstanding the fact that the vast majority of people in the area actively oppose Al Nusra and its allied, Turkish fed , Gray Wolf led militias.

It's hard to make sense of this war unless it is viewed sen purely through the lens of unlimited revenge and vendetta. The vast majority of people directly killed in this war were hit by Assad/Putin air strikes. This fact alone absolutely ensures that there is no possible chance of reconciliation between Alawites and Sunni Arabs.
