IMVHO, printing money is largely what got them into this situation.
Just a further comment on my fears I expressed in my (now deleted) post. I opened up my newsfeed today and there were some comments by Ray Dalio (founder of the world’s largest investment fund), who correctly predicted the GFC. His comments were along the lines that “it is irrelevant who wins the US election in November; the result is likely to be instability.” He also pointed out the trend in which companies are shifting to more favourable states. This is probably not new, but it’s becoming noticeable. For example, Elon Musk is moving his headquarters from California to Texas. A kind of “polarisation” is under way. Dalio doesn’t even rule out civil war in the US, saying he thought it was “unlikely” (but possible). This stuff concerns me.
