Agree, index inclusion is very much a double-edged sword. When the passive ETF's buy in they simply hold the stock, so to earn extra income (profits for them) they loan to stock out, usually to short-sellers / hedge funds. Although as a co. grows it will go through the indices (and notionally it's great to grow, obviously) but this can work badly for low trading volume / volatile / speculative COS stocks....which pretty much describes PYC...as the strategy can be to sell short, drive the stock back out of the index and cover with the ETF's when they exit their holding. Unless PYC nail it and go well beyond the threshold where they can be manipulated in/out they will be in risky territory from those that make a living 'managing' stocks.
