Don't disagree with all of your rational points - however the degree of SP fall in a short space of time is not rational, it looks of something is about to happen - positioning.
To comment on some of your points -
1 - Interest needs to come from the insto's - if there is a CR being canvassed they would be privy to that - and why buy on market when there is an alternative - lack of interest. 2 - Why would Mr Tribe buy when he would know the state of play and exactly what games are being played and by whom - and have the resources to squash them if he so choose to do. 3 - Deals are often bandied around but rarely come in the timeframes to suit the shareholders - I think there will be another CR before there is a deal. 4 - MACD is a reliable indicator but currently downward sloping - but a good day will see that change - and coming from below 0 in an upward direction is a good sign. 5 - Any exposure is good exposure.
Got to be close to the bottom but someone still keen to push it lower - Mr Tribe would have a limit ! - just under $1m traded today and Mr Tribe down another $8m paper loss ! - go figure - must be almost time for the hairy handed gents with baseball bats to go visiting !
