It is worth noting that PM Watt is a co-author of one of the publications listed on the ANRI website. Titled, AP-1 inhibitory peptides are neuroprotective following acute glutamate excitotoxicity in primary cortical neuronal cultures, the Abstract discusses five peptides which display neuroprotective activity. The peptides include PYC35D-TAT and PYC36D-TAT.
Peptides PYC35 and PYC36 also feature in the latest technical presentation by Phylogica re: slides 19 and 20 titled Dose-dependent neuroprotection with Phylomers and Phylomer protection from brain damage of permanent focal ischaemia.
The ANRI publication in the Journal of Neurochemistry is dated January 2010. Research has now moved forward four years. It would be surprising that work would continue on neuroprotective peptide candidates unless they demonstrated a significant level of efficacy.
