How do you "force" someone to learn English. Wouldn't it be better to only accept immigrants who already speak English? Easily done by testing procedures administered by Australian public servants in the applicant's own country.
How do you force someone into detention centres? How do you force someone to spend time in jail? Yes. you should be forced to learn English. Easy to enforce this. So what are you advocating? You arrive on a boat but don't speak English you should be sent back regardles of your bonafide refugee status? And yes maybe for applicants of the correct path, a pre-requisite is that they need a certain level of English.

Not nonsense at all. Many, many immigrants have embraced the Australian culture over time. it's what generally in the past has made Australia such a great multi-cultural society to live in. Things are changing. You can easily enforce programs that require immigrants to participate. In many cases, it's an education process. We need a much better system of integration.
