A: "No, Totally Different. These LPi sytems are not direct injection(yet). They add a liquid propane(or other gas) EFI injector to the intake manifold close to each intake valve(1 per cylinder). The engine will run on these or on the petrol injectors(EFI) already there. I'm not sure how much of the system is actually OEC's or Vialle's(http://www.vialle.nl/home.html?L=1&cHash=42f430268f). I forsee other auto companies now getting on the Orbital LPi bandwagon.
FlexDI is dual fuel direct injection as opposed to the LPi EFI systems.
OEC still has FlexDI Projects ongoing in Brazil and China and who knows where else.
