    Re your post which included;
    "... Lets face it, Australia needs to become another leader in some new industry in the future. Mining is just not going to cut it in the near future."

    Thanks for your feedback, your point [above] is of crucial importance to us. If we just keep doing what we've always done others will do it cheaper & better, leaving us lamenting lost opportunity. This is one of the reasons I support the NBN & FTTH - provide the opportunity to an increasingly skilled people to become involved in the economy of the future & to re-invent how they operate.

    Julia Gillard's carbon tax / ETS has been very poorly handled - dragging on for years & so comprehensively misunderstood. Meanwhile during the GFC we have borne witness to the loss of our own emerging innovative green energy companies overseas; PAX & CFU for example.

    There is no doubt that given the lack of support by government for such companies accepting that the proceeds of the carbon tax will deliver is a big leap of faith.

    As to who should lead the way, sadly our multi-billionnaires appear to be bogged down in short term profiteering from our old economy & our pollies lack the backbone, credibility & creativity to ensure we take three steps forward before taking at least two backwards.
