I was educated in the Australian political system to believe that The Senate was the house of review.
These Senators were not elected to push their own private agendas but to have oversight and to amend prospective legislation brought forward by the house of representatives.
I thought new senators were put through an education course as what their responsibilities were at law to the Australian Parliament.
Some of these Senators respective parties have no chance of winning a debate in the lower house as they do not have anywhere near the number of seats to bring about change in the lower house.
Their only only responsibility is to review and if possible improve on ideas already debated and passed by a majority in the lower house .
I expect tonight:s Q and A will not be discussing any legislation currently up for review in the senate but will be a free for all from a pretty average lot of grandstanders.
